I wanted to share some preliminary information to you. I will travel to Istanbul, Turkey next week and it might influence the number of posts coming from 30th of February until 3rd of February. I will of course post all the planned and scheduled posts what I have committed to, so no worries about that. It's mostly about that I do not know how much time I will have for posting everything else.
I have finished 4 chapters of the book I am writing and looking for a critique partner, so if you'd like to join in with my writing process, feel free to let me know. Since I am writing in English I would need a person who is native speaker and who has patience with me. :) I am already looking for the possible publishers and checking the submission dates, because I want to be prepared - for everything. I had my sister reading the beginning of the book yesterday and continue sharing with her, too. So far, she has enjoyed it, she was giggling while reading and encouraged me a lot. The book will be approximately 80.000 words, so there is a long way to go, but I am sincerely enjoying it.
Blogging and everything related to that has been fun last week. I have got several review requests and also couple of reminders from the authors. I always enjoy the communication with authors! I got many books for March and April reviews and I have also tried to review the books I have purchased myself. It's fun to combine these things in a way that the balance between what I really want to read and the books I am picking for the reviews is existent.
I am preparing questions for several publishers at the moment, because I am planning to have several publishers visiting my blog in March -April and there will be both small and big publishers coming by.
I have advertising information page for some time now and I think the ads are starting to come up of the sidebar quite so soon.
I also prepared for spring reading. I looked through many catalogues for 2012 releases and made some requests for reviews, too. If everything goes as I'd like, then I will have some books reviewed before their releases.
Last, but not least, I ma already preparing my visit to US, to the BEA 2012. I have the flight tickets as mentioned earlier and now I am in the working process with finding sponsors. It's fun! I still need some clarifications about the hotel room and the good news for me are, that I do not need a visa! I have also started to contact the publishers and writers whom I know and who will be at BEA to meet with them... I can't wait!!! June still seems far away, but there are only 3 months to the beginning of BEA.
If you are at BEA and would like to meet, let me know. I am planning to do lots of interviews while I am there, too - both with authors and publishers.
I am not sure if I have mentioned, but I will have another person traveling with me. Her name is Maria and she will be assisting me before, during and after the big event. She lives in Germany and from June you will probably meet her here in my blog!
I have read few books, so in 2012 I think I have managed to read 16 books already. There are new releases from 2012 and also books from 2011. I do not know if I have been lucky or picked up the right books, but the books I have read have been very very good! There has been some contemporary romances, some paranormal and fantasy books and also mystery books and historical novels, too!
My Kindle has been absolutely useful! I think I have managed to read more after I received it! Of course, the quantity is less important for me than quality, but at least now I can read book in places where I could not do it earlier. Love my new device!
For 2012 TBR Pile Challenge I have read 2 books and one of the reviews is posted - Graveminder by Melissa Marr and the second review will also be up soon - Fallen by Lauren Kate.
For DAC 2012 I have read 1 book and the review is also posted - Life On the Edge. I am also participating with the same review in the DAC mini challenge for January for reading an e-book.
I also sent out two books in the frame of Random Acts of Kindness!
I will write the wrap-up posts for the challenges next week.
